Employer Outreach Program

Under the Employer Outreach Program, EnAble India enters into collaboration with companies to employ people with disabilities successfully. This is achieved by working with companies in identifying job opportunities, providing a business case on how a person with disability will carry out the work, providing the required tools and aids to ensure success, sensitizing peer employees, and offering counseling and support for employers and employees on an ongoing basis. Some of the companies which are part of our program include Shell, Customer 24x7, IBM, Coffee Day etc

Technical skills Training

EnAble India conducts collaborative technical skills training with prospective employers to ensure job placement. For example, a Bangalore based BPO company required data entry operators. In collaboration with the company, EnAble India conducted a 6-week training program for physically challenged and hearing impaired candidates. The curriculum included data entry procedures, proofreading, advanced tools in Word, Excel and other software and soft skills required for the job. The candidates were also familiarized with the internal processes of the company.

Soft Skills Training and Personality Development

Values, attitudes, behavior and interpersonal skills drive an individual's potential for growth in an organization. EnAble India's soft skills training sessions address the development of personality traits (confidence, integrity, work ethics, handling change, risk-taking ability) and workplace ethics and attitudes (learnability, planning and organizing, attention to detail, eye on the bottomline etc). Experiential learning is provided based on each individual's needs.

Job-related Orientation & Counseling

Job-related orientation and counseling is extremely critical for the successful employment, fitment and growth of a person with disability. The orientation and counseling sessions are focused on specific features peculiar to an industry. For example, several hearing impaired candidates have been employed by the food-service and hospitality industry. For a group of such candidates. EnAble India conducted counseling and orientation sessions covering issues like the importance of customer service, understanding the customer through experiential learning, the importance of team-work, the need to work in shifts and on holidays etc.
Counseling is on a need basis and sessions are held in batches.

Facilitation of barrier free environment and workplace solutions

The most important aspect of ensuring placement and retention of disabled at a workplace is providing the right environment and tools for effective job performance. EnAble India works with employers to identify and eliminate barriers in the work environment. For example, for the physically disabled a building without ramps is a barrier, and suitable modifications could facilitate easier access; for the visually impaired, printed material is a barrier, and an audio or a Braille version of the material would be required.

EnAble India also works with employers to provide workplace solutions i.e the right tools, aids, technology, configuration and alternate solutions for efficient completion of the assigned work responsibilities..
